On Friday, September 11, feeling at home in their jam-packed Cougar Dome, the Quince Orchard Cougars pounced early and often on the Walter Johnson Wildcats, until they ended up with a final score of 61 Quince Orchard to 11 W. Johnson. The very long list of (mostly QO) scores summarizes the 2nd game of the season.

Scores for Quince Orchard: Sean Barlow – 3 TD (15 run, 72 run, 75 punt return), Marvin Beander – 2 TD (48 run, 14 run,), Eisley Kim – 1 TD (12 run), Nick Moon – 1TD (3yd pass), Titus Johnson – 1 TD (2 run), Marvin Nemi – 1 TD (75 yd interception return), Oliver Clowes – 7 extra points.

The recent traumatic neck injury of Georgetown linebacker Tyrell Williams, who had been a starter on Quince Orchard’s varsity offense from 2010 – 2012, was foremost on the minds of many in attendance. The crowd was informed that Williams and his family were grateful for and deeply moved by all the community support as they face daunting challenges of a long recovery ahead. When asked for an update, QO head coach John Kelley optimistically noted “Tyrell seems to be getting better and better every day.”
