Quince Orchard Cougars traveled to Damascus Hornets Nest, to start the 2015 season off. The Cougars win the toss and defer to the second half. The Hornets quickly move the ball down field setting up the 1st score of the night on a short run by #34 Jake Funk, and the extra point being good. Damascus 7-0. The Cougars get the ball and go 3 and out and are forced to punt, The Hornets in turn do the same and punt, it is starting to look like a punt fest, Cougars go 3 and out and punt again, this time the snap goes over the punters head and is recovered and punted a short distance, allowing the Hornets to move the ball down the field setting up a short td run by #11 Will Armstrong, the extra point being good, score Damascus 14-0 with about 4 minutes left in the 1st. Quince Orchard jumps back and #1 Shawn Barlow rushes for a 40 + yds gain, placing the Cougars deep into the Hornets territory allowing #44 Eisley Kim to score on a short run with extra point being good, Score 14-7.
Just a few seconds into the 2nd quarter, #34 Jake Funk score on a short run and the extra point being good, score 21-7. The Cougars go 3 and out to punt, setting Damascus up on their 17 yard line. Quickly #34 Funk picks up a few 1st downs moving the ball, on 3rd and 14 on the 39, #34 Funk scores again, the ensuing extra point snap was bobbled. Score 27-7. Cougars #23 Marvin Beander rushes down the sidelines for 36 yards, setting up another run for a 34 yard td by #23 Marvin Beander, the extra point being good, score 27-14 with 7 minutes left in the 1st half. Damascus goes 3 and out and punts setting the Cougars up near mid field with 2 minutes left in the half, Cougars move near the goal line and go for it on 4th and 1, and end up turning the ball over on their 7 yard line.
Starting the 2nd half, Cougars complete a pass for 45 yards, ball is on Damascus 45 yard line, with about a minute into the 3rd, the officials call for a time out due to Lightning for about 30 minutes. They restart with flickers of lightning in the distance, Damascus hold the Cougars to a field goal, score 27-17. Damascus #7 Julian Kinard scores on a 1 yard run, the extra point attempt fails, score 33-17. Cougars go 3 and out and punts, Damascus fumbles on one of the next few plays and the Cougars recover the ball Damascus 43 yard line.
In the 4th quarter, Cougars move the ball but are forced to punt, and the Hornets also end up punting giving the ball to the Cougars on their own 6 yard line, with 6 minutes left, Cougars moves the ball some before Hornets #80 Joey Salisbury picks an interception, allowing the Hornets the ball on the 48 yard line. Hornets #34 Funk scores on a 45+ yard run, extra point attempt failed, score 39-17. The Cougars next set of downs they go for it on 4th and 10 and fail.
