Damascus Headed to State Finals

The last hurdle to reaching the Maryland 3A Football State Final at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore was cleared once Damascus running back Jake Funk had made a few unanswered touchdowns against Glenelg. The Glenelg Gladiators never got in the semi-final game enough to pose much of a threat to the undefeated Damascus Hornets. It is tough to watch a team like Glenelg end their wildly successful season by falling flat on such an important night, but Damascus got a much-needed break just one week after beating Linganore by a single point and losing a couple of their key players to injuries. Now the Damascus Hornets are headed straight to the State Championship game to face the Franklin Indians on Thursday, December 4th, where the Baltimore Ravens play.

Final Score: Damascus 33 – Glenelg 0
