Quince Orchard Fends off Clarksburg

When the sadness of having it end in the loss of a close game fades a bit, the Clarksburg Coyotes should always look back at their 2014 season with pride. They had exciting match-ups with Damascus, Northwest, and Quince Orchard (twice). Those teams all won their first round playoff games, and since Clarksburg didn’t play like a 4th seeded team, no one would have been surprised if they had managed to score in one of their drives during the final minutes. Top seeded Quince Orchard was bracing for the possibility of overtime or maybe losing by one point after running out of time. Quince Orchard had to utilize their “black paw defense” in order to save their season during those last harrowing Clarksburg drives against them. QO prevailed and now they are preparing to host Northwest on Friday night for round 2 of playoffs back at the Cougar Dome.

Final Score: 21 Quince Orchard – 14 Clarksburg

Scores for QO: Kyle Green – 1 TD, Marvin Beander – 2 TD’s, Troy Porter – 3 extra points
Scores for Clarksburg: Tavis Holland – 2 TD’s, Craig Jessup – 2 extra points
