The Lady Hornets of Damascus HS face off against the Lady Engineers of Polytechnics Institute at Towson State’s Secu Arena for the MPSSAA State Semi final 3A game. The Lady Engineers are playing a solid first quarter making little, if any mistakes, in the first quarter the Lady Hornets have the lead at 12 to 11.
There are a lot of traveling calls in the first half. The Lady Hornets begin to pull away for the Lady Engineers late 2nd quarter with a score of Lady Hornets 21 to Lady Engineers 18.
Kelli Prange #15 for the Lady Hornets hits a 3 pointer to spark their lead coming out of half time. The Lady Engineers are increasing the pressure on the Lady Hornets, trying to slow them down, late 3rd quarter of the game. Both teams are playing a solid game without a lead larger than 6. At the end of the 3rd the score is Lady Hornets 35 to Lady Engineers 29
Lady Hornets #14 Anna Warfield has to come out of the game with an injury, and is fixed up by a trainer on the side of the courts, only to return a few minutes later eager to get back into the action. With two minutes remaining in the 4th, the Lady Engineers tighten the lead to 3. Lauren Green # 4 for the Lady Hornets hits 2 free throws to put lead distance back to 6 points. With one minute left, the Lady Hornets have their mind on running the clock out. Jenna Kaufman #1 put the game out of reach making both free throw shots with 11 second left on the clock.
