Northwest Jaguars Win 4A State Finals

Friday Night, M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore MD. was hosting the Maryland State Varsity 4A Football Championship, with weather conditions being cold, windy and rainy. Friday nights matchup featured the Northwest Jaguars from Montgomery County and the Suitland Rams from Prince Georges County.

In the first quarter, the Jaguars where the first score of the game was a 9 yd. run by #23 EJ Lee, with the extra point attempt being blocked by Rams #10 Nicholas Nelson. Jaguars 6-0 The Rams are not able to move the and end up punting, the Jaguars are forced to punt and the snap is long and high and the ends up in the end-zone for a Rams safety. Jaguars 6-2 Jaguars kick off and the Rams move the ball some and end up turning it over, Mark Pierce #11 connects a pass with #5 Josh Gills for a 30 yd. TD, they go for a 2 point conversion and do not make it, Jaguars 12-2.

The rain started to subside just as halftime was starting and the Suitland Rams Marching Band performed and while the Northwest Jaguars Marching Band performed it started to rain heavy again and remained for the rest of the night.

During the 3rd quarter the Rams #12 Wesley Wolfolk connects a pass with #23 Tevin Singleton for a 40 yd. TD pass, the 2 point conversion attempt failed. Jaguars 12-8 The Jaguars strike back with  a 2 yd. TD run by #12 Rasheed Gills and #23 EJ Lee rushing for the 2 point attempt and converting. Jaguars 20-8 Rams respond with #12 Wesley Wolfolk connects with #88 Darryl Jasper for a 4 yd. TD, and #12 Wesley Wolfolk converts to 2 point attempt. Jaguars 20-16 Jaguars respond with a 77 yd. TD pass from #11 Mark Pierce to #6 Matt Watson, the 2 point conversion was intercepted in the end-zone. Jaguars 26-16 #23 EJ Lee scores on a 10 yd. TD run and #18 Diego Melendez kicks the extra point. Jaguars 33-16
