BCC HS Varsity Basketball Preview Boys & Girls

20120120-JVNLR-0010BCC HIGH SCHOOL BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL

We spoke with Coach Tracy, getting the teams 2013-2014 forecast.

Returning Players, We found that they have 5 returning players

Key Players to look for this season, It’s still rather early, so it’s hard to pinpoint just one guy. I actually have a few in mind: Karl Baare – Senior (solid point guard, strong with the ball, good decision maker), Kevin Holston – Sophomore (great ball handler, can score from anywhere on the court), Justin Carter – Junior (athletic combo guard, good shooter)

How the team look so far, We have a lot of new faces, but we are off to a good start. Right now everyone is just getting used to each other, trying to feel things out. We have good size and good guard play, we just have to put the pieces together in the right spot.

Predicting where the team will be at the end of the season, That’s a tough question to answer! My approach as a coach going into games has always been that anyone can beat anyone on any given night, so I’d have to say 22-0. Realistically, there is just no way to answer that question. One of our team goals is to finish better than we did last year (5-17).

Who will be their toughest competitor, I’d have to say Whitman (b/c of the “Battle of Bethesda”, they are our biggest rival), Paint Branch (tough last year, good guard play, well coached), Blake (usually pretty athletic, aggressive, well coached).

As for games that would be on a Don’t Miss games, Whitman

BCC HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL

We spoke with Coach Rushin, getting the teams 2013-2014 forecast.

Returning Players, We found that they have 5 returning players

Key Players to look for this season, we have a strong core group of players.

How the team look so far, I am very pleased with what I have seen thus far. We are a young, athletic team that seems to be able to put points on the board offensively. Our focus will be maintaining intense defensive pressure, forcing turnovers, and not taking any plays off.

Predicting where the team will be at the end of the season, .500 or better

Who will be their toughest competitor, Division Rivals Whitman and Paint Branch

As for games that would be on a Don’t Miss games, All!
