Quince Orchard HS Shuts Out Churchill HS 52-0

DSC09038-2811487120-O DSC09195-2811591520-OChurchill came to play at Quince Orchard’s Homecoming game. The last time the Churchill Bulldogs met up with the Quince Orchard Cougars, in the 2011 4A West Region championship game, they were edged out of their one point lead in the final 7 seconds by Chris McPherson’s legendary 24-yard field goal. On Friday night, all traces of the past were gone, except that this season’s kicker for Quince Orchard, Troy Porter, had an unforgettable game. Porter kicked a field goal and 7 extra points after each of the 7 touchdowns – and the seventh touchdown was a 99 yard interception return by Porter himself!
Everyone is hoping that Churchill’s talented Blake Dove, out with an injury since the season opener, can take to the field soon to make a difference for his team. Dove is still a Junior, and many of Churchill’s starters are also returning, so next year at Churchill may be a much more competitive game.
Final Score:  52-0, Quince Orchard
Scores for QO:  Kevin Joppy – 3 TDs, Preston Bampoe-Addo – 1 TD, Malcolm Brown – 1 TD, Shawn Barlow – 1 TD, Troy Porter – 1 FG, 1 TD, 7 extra points
