Coming into week 8 with it all on the line, the (5-2) Watkins Mill Wolverines hosted the (4-3) Wootton Patriots for their 2012-2013 Senior Night Game. A win for the Wolverines or Patriots, would keep their playoff hopes alive. Early in the game neither team seemed to click, and had to punt the ball away on their first series. Wootton came out on their second possession smelling the end zone as they march down field and punch the ball in for a touchdown on a 8 yard run by Jibri Woods. Entering the second quarter the Wolverines are down 7-0 and still trying to get their offense going while the Patriots march down field for their 2nd TD of the game 14-0 patriots at halftime.
Coming out in the 2nd half the Wolverines had turned everything around and had an eye for the end zone. Especially Senior running back Quinton Littlejohn who came out and punched the ball in on a 5 yard TD run. As the ran started to pour things got slippery and it became a ground game, which worked on the favor of the Wolverines, who continued to run the ball as Senior DB Dontay Hears lead the defense to consistent stops of the Patriots offense. The score remained 14-7 throughout the 3rd quarter down to the last few minutes of the 4th where junior WR Malik Brooks made a stunning catch to keep the game alive then later that drive on 4th down senior RB Quinton Littlejohn punches in another TD to put the Wolverines down by one, they get a delay of game while setting up a field goal, then decide to go for two, and punched in a game winning 2 pt conversion. 15-14 Wolverines as they kept their playoff hopes alive.
