Damascus Swarnin Hornets remain undefeated after Rockville Rams

Coming into Week 6, the Damascus Hornets (6-0) hosted the Rockville  Rams (1-5) for their 2012-2013 homecoming game, that many figured would be a walk in the park for the Hornets. The opening drive, the Hornets wasted no time proving critics right with a first play 45 yd screen pass for a touchdown to highly recruited sophomore Jalen Christian. The Hornets wasted no time making a statement on the defensive side of the ball with consecutive tackles in the backfield by senior LB Zach Bradshaw. The Rams chose to punt and to return was Zach Bradshaw who took it straight up the field with a stunning return for a 67 yd touchdown. At this point the Hornets had the Rams in a tight situation being down 14-0 in the first few minutes of the game. With the Swarming Hornets defensive line led  by the monstrous senior tackle Rashard Budd putting pressure on the Rams, they were backed up on there on goal line. The Hornets continued the beating on the Rams, forcing a safety 16-0 Hornets.

The Hornets get the ball back on offense and march down field with consecutive completions to senior wide out #25 Bruno Smith and a good chunk of yardage on the ground from senior RB Trevor Patton who had 380+ rushing yards on the season coming into the game. Capping off the march down to their 4 yard line and ran a toss to senior wide out Zach Bradshaw for a 4 yd touchdown also his second touchdown of the night, he had 3, 23-0 Hornets. The Rams continued to struggle on the offensive side of the ball, as Hornets senior back Caleb Baiden gets in the end zone on an 11 yd rush 30-0 end of first quarter. By the 8 minute mark of the 2nd quarter, Hornets command and have the clock is running by rule. The Hornets continue to flat-out dominate on defense throughout the second quarter and go into halftime with a 37-0 lead. Coming out in the second half the Hornets start to mix their lineup up playing everyone and both teams continue to go 3 & out for the rest of the game and at the end of a very quiet second half from both teams the Damascus Hornets take the victory for an exciting homecoming game 44-0. The Hornets advance to 7-0 on the season, with the Rams falling to 1-6.

The Hornets travel to faceoff with Whitman for week 8, and the Rams host the Barons of BCC, in an attempt to bounce back on the season.
