Watkins Mill Wolverines advance on the Einstein Titans

Einstein Titans hosted the Watkins Mill Wolverines, Friday night in their homecoming game.  Watkins Mill won the toss electing to receive. The Wolverines wasted no time as their opening drive marched them down the field resulting in a pass to Malik Brooks putting the Wolverines in an early lead.  The Titans answered with a 69 yard pass to Nobel Mussie tying the game.  First quarter excitement continued with the Wolverines scoring two additional unanswered touchdowns to end the quarter Watkins Mill 21 – Einstein 7.

Second quarter play included a blocked field goal attempt  by Watkins Mill, recovered by the Titans, which gave them the ball deep in  Wolverine territory.  A 79 yd completion brings the Titans to first and goal.  On the next play, QB Sean Loftus ran the ball into the end zone bringing the score to Watkins Mill 21 – Einstein 14.  The Wolverines answered by marching quickly down the field.  With seconds remaining in the 1st half, QB Pat Schlosser ran into the end zone ending the half with a Wolverine lead 28-14. The 3rd quarter both teams remained scoreless, but the teams weren’t finished yet.  Fourth quarter action showed the Wolverines scoring 3 additional times.  The Titans remained focused; with just seconds left in the game, RB Khalil Wilson ran the ball for the final Titan touchdown.  A successful two point conversion brought the final score to WM 48, Einstein 22.

Wolverine touchdowns were scored by Malik Brooks, Pat Schlosser (2) Quinton Schaired, J.R. Gibson, Dontay Hears, and Jaron Woodyard.  Titan touchdowns were scored by Sean Loftus, Nobel Mussie, and Khalil Wilson.  Wolverines racked up over 500 offensive yards, with QB Pat Schlosser having an impressive game with over 300 yards passing, and over 70 yards rushing. The Wolverine victory brings Watkins Mill to an overall 4-2 record and the Titans to an overall 3-3 record.   Next week the Wolverines host the Northwood Gladiators, while the Titans travel to Paint Branch to take on the Panthers.
