Sherwood HS Warriors came to the field with a game plan of knocking Damascus HS Swarnin Hornets of their undefeated perch. The Hornets had their own plan to sting the Warriors. The final outcome was the Warriors being stung by the Hornets. Damascus HS and Seneca Valley HS are now the only undefeated teams left in Montgomery County as of today.
The first series for each team resulted in 3 downs and then a punt. The Hornets start moving the ball with a few passes to #2 Jalen Christian, followed by #9 Chase Williams being sacked by Sherwood HS Warrior #2 Fitz Mofor. #6 George Vinson rushes for 22 yds, and #40 Shawn Kelly for 12 yds, followed by several back to back penalties. Warriors scores a touchdown and misses the extra point, score 6-0, Hornets comeback to get on the scoreboard with a field goal, 6-3. In the 2nd quarter Hornets #7 Stephon Jacobs rushes for a touchdown followed up by a missed extra point. SHS 6 DHS 9. Warriors # 40 Elijah Spottswood picks up about 25 yds on the ensuing kickoff, followed by a fumble that is recovered by Hornets #4 Caleb Baisden. #5 Trevor Patton scores a touchdown off a 6 yd run, extra point was good and the score is now Warriors 6 Hornets 16. Zach Bradshaw returns a punt for 70 yds and stumbles just before the end zone, coming close to a touchdown. A few plays later # 9 Chase Williams score a touchdown on a keeper, extra point good, score Warriors 6 Hornets 23.

The warriors come out from 1/2 time ready to play, moving the ball down field with passing and rushing plays, picking up a few 1st downs along the way to a rushing touchdown by #6 Moses Vines with the extra point being good, score SHS 13 DHS 23. Warriors #5 Jordan Larsen scores on a 19 yd keeper with the extra point being good, score 20-23 with 1:23 left in the 3rd quarter. Both teams move the ball down the field but can not capitalize on it, the Hornets get close and attempt a field goal and end up with a delay of game call, field goal no good. Sherwood ball on turnover and start to head down field, Hornets #4 Caleb Baisden intercepts a pass with 3:34 left in the 4th quarter.
