Defending 3A state champions Watkins Mill boys soccer opened up Division play versus the Northwood Gladiators. The Wolverines dominated throughout the whole game while having multiple chances at the goal. During the first half, around the 19th minute, senior Bayron Zelaya scored the opening goal for the Wolverines with an assist by senior Flavius Mastacaneanu. The second goal was scored by sophomore Alec Vanbronkhorst unassisted as Vanbronkhorst stole the ball from the defender. The Gladiators kept fighting back but failed to scored giving Junior Albert Botchway his first career Varsity Clean Sheet, and the win for the Wolverines improving them to (3-2). Next game for the Wolverines is away against Einstein High School October 2nd @ 7pm as they continue divisional play.
