Friday night, the Hornets capitalized on several Clarksburg mistakes, and scored 21 points before their offense took the field and cruised to a 41-6 win with a standing-room only crowd in Damascus. Bradshaw returned the ball 55 yards for a touchdown just over 2 minutes into the game. Clarksburg’s Naim Reed then fumbled the ball on the ensuing snap from the line of scrimmage and Jack Rogers scooped up the ball and rumbled 11 yards for a TD. Bradshaw intercepted a pass for a 82 yd touchdown to give Damascus a lead of 21-0 at the 6 minutes into the first quarter.
Clarksburg’s next possession went 61 yards on eight plays and ended with a 2 yd pass from quarterback Joey Macci to Terrell Drakeford, to end with a missed extra point. Damascus ran with a pair of rushing td’s in the second quarter, followed by Stephon Jacob scoring on a fumbled kickoff late in the half. The second half was played with a running clock and both teams played 2nd and 3rd strings.
