Damascus Hornets got off to a stinging hot start going on a 15-4 run with three 3 pointers by #2 Cade Woody. The Hornets continued to play tight defense forcing Thomas Johnson to continue turn the ball over and allowing the Hornets to capitalize of the mistakes. At the end of the first quarter the score was 16-7 Hornets.
Thomas Johnson started to claw their way back into the game narrowing the lead to 1 with hard-earned buckets in transition. The Hornets started to speed the tempo up and became too much for the Patriots to handle. Getting to the free throw line late and hitting clutch free throws. The game wasn’t over though the Patriots forced a clutch steal allowing their top player to capitalize on a fast break lay-up allowing the Patriots to take the lead.
