Seneca Valley boys basketball share the top of the 3A/2A Division

The Eagles open up with a 5-0 run and high pressure defense forcing an early timeout by the Poolesville Falcons. Seneca Valley boys continue its hot start by expanding its lead to 14-6 and keeping the defense on, despite its free throw struggles as a team in the first quarter. As the first quarter closes the Eagles lead 14-6. Both teams start to heat up with back to back runs, then on the flip side the Falcons start to get in a little foul trouble of their own.The Falcons respond with a mini run to try to even the game up after the timeout midway through the second quarter, The Falcons heat up with intense defense, and an explosive 2nd quarter by #14 Zach Sneed for the Falcons narrow the lead going into half at 33-28. The Eagles come out the second half full speed forcing turnovers, capitalizing on their opportunity. As the 3rd quarter closes the Eagles led by 9. score 47-38. Straight out the gates #1 Jerry McFadden continues to lead his team with astonishing finishes at the basket. One of Falcons fouled out giving the Eagles easy point at the free throw line.

Seneca Valleys Tom Sheahin: Says “we felt really good, they beat a lot of good teams, we lost our center to a college visit so we asked our guards to help with rebounding, they got easy basket from rebounding, we were 1 for 6 from the free throw line ending the game, we need to work on that, we won 11 out of 9, were shooting for the first round bye”.
